2/20/2018 – My trailer has a 1.5” x 3” box frame. Mounting to the side of the trailer frame seems like there is very little contact between the guide-on frame and the trailer frame when mounted. Is there an optimal way to mount or do I need some spacers somewhere to stabilize? The trailer has a cross beam with same dimensions, but dropped about 1/2” lower, located right near where I am mounting the guide-ons. Is it recommended to mount to that cross-beam instead so there is more surface area contacting the galvanized guide-on frames? Compared to the pictures on the instructions and what I’ve seen, they seem to be kind of loose fitting to my small trailer frame. Thanks for any guidance!

That is a good question.
The brackets may need to be installed below the frame with the u bolts criss crossing the top of the frame. (for smaller frames)
Yes, you can attach the guide ons to the cross beams but since it is 1/2" lower you may want to add a block of wood, metal or plastic in between the tube and member for more stability.
